A set of Soviet Air Force pilot wings also worn by Soviet cosmonauts- air force pilots prior 1967, when were issued separate Cosmonaut wings (however some older generation cosmonauts still prefer to have on uniform jacket still old version pilot wings as pictured). Originaly wings issued to award pilots with classification grades- Pilot-1 class, 2-class and 3-class according accumulated flight hours, disciplines performed and general flight experience.Class wings given to pilots along with `Pilot-Sniper` wing and classification of pilot indicated in special ID book.Blank wing with no class almost not used, but target for collectors of rare type wings.Highest level of flight experience-First class pilot.
