Presented 12.5 inches lenght one of a kind hand made model of experimental aircraft SAM-9 Strela (Arrow) from mid 30`s was designed by Alexander Moskalyov and in recent years hailed (justifiably) as aerodynamic pioneer of today`s SST`s.Alexander Sergeyevich Moskalyov was one of indefatigable Soviet constructors who, having no assured finances and no production base, managed to build an impressive run of aircraft.Many were of outstanding merit.By sheer enthusiasm on part of pilots who flew them, some gained production order (including engineering of famous TB-3 bomber).
Moskalyov`s SAM-9 flown by A.N.Gusarov and A.P.Chyernyavskii.Moskalyov`s unofficial status and supposed fantastic ideas warped judgement, and project banned mid 1937.
