29.5 cm (11 and 3/4 inches) wing span hand made model of Su-5 second Sukhoi experimental interceptor of 1944. Su-5 was rival to MIG (I-250) as mixed-power aircraft able to dogfight German jet and rocket aircraft.Prototype authorised as I-107 early 1944, using same combination of engines as I-250. Almost all flying by test pilot G.Komarov.Satisfactory aircraft, but no production requirement in view of unquestioned superiority of turbojet.
