17 inches lenght resin models of OKB-23 Myasishchev Design Bureau one of variants of famous M-56K complex project (bomber with Kh-22 missiles).Project on this strategic bomber began in 1958 to create more advanced bomber instead of M-52.A number of different variants of M-56 existed.The evolution of the M-56 design took place very quickly; however the end result was very different from the first interesting variants including Variant-2.All M-56 variants maintained its canard configuration, but the wing shape and engine arrangement had been redesigned.Last variant M-56 very simular to variant-2 had 6 engines.Work on M-56 strategic missile carrier was pretty advanced and a full-size mock up was built with new VK-15Ms engines ordered from Vladimir Klimov team.Maiden flight expected in mid-1963. In October 1960 Myasishchev Design Bureau was incorporated as a branch office of space rocket designer Vladimir Chelomei`s team to deal with space/missile systems.Myasishchev was transferred to the TSAGI (Central Aerodynamic Institute, becoming its general manager) and same Government resolution also stopped the work on M-56 project, which also included Four-engined M-53 supersonic passenger derivative of the M-56. Original model is an unique example of 3-D replica of one of bombers of this famous project.Plane can be displayed on own wheels or on massive chrome base with engraved logo of Myasishchev Design Bureau.Stand optional by request.
