1999 minted in Samara city, where located Progress factory produced engines for giant Soviet Moon maned rocket complex N-1/L-3. This medal was issued in commemoration of first launch of space rocket complex N-1/L-3 21 february 1969-1999 anniversary.The launch was unsuccessful, but it is still a part of Cosmonautics History.And these medals were exclusively minted for Progress factory.No public circulation. On reverse side reads `Their names are in history of World Cosmonautics` and listed names of famous Soviet Academicians- designers who worked in program M.V.Keldysh, S.P.Korolev, V.P.Mishin, D.I.Kozlov, N.D.Kuznetsov, N.A.Pilyugin, V.P.Barmin.
