Following the Soyuz-11 accident, the Soyuz space craft was redesigned.Lazarev and makarov tested its system on a 2-day mission, becoming the first cosmonauts to wear space suits in flight since 1965.
Soyuz-13 team observed Comet Kahoutek, as did the Skylab astronauts.It was the first time that Soviet and American space travelers were in orbit simultaneously.
