Soyuz TMA-5 Welcome! Flown Greeting page depicts emblem of Soyuz TMA-5 mission and first introduced when Soyuz TMA-5 team Sharipov, Chiao and Shargin entered International Space Station to join ISS-9 crew Padalka and Fincke.
File with Greeting I`ve forwarded to ISS-9 commander Gennady Padalka by e-mail.It was only few hours prior Soyuz met the station on orbit.Gennady did couple printouts and attached pages on the walls of station to Welcome new arriving team.
Millions could see these pages during NASA TV programming when all five cosmonauts and astronauts accepted congratulations on successful arrival to the ISS.Captured from TV screen image depicted at second picture.
Pages saved by Soyuz TMA-5 commander Salizhan Sharipov and 192 days later, at the end of ISS-10 expedition they were cancelled with on board handstamps and signed by ISS-10 crew Leroy Chiao and Salizhan Sharipov.Third picture depicts Chiao and Sharipov with actual page in hands
This unique artifact depicts emblem, which I`ve designed by request of team.Limited edition patches were produced for team and Yuri Shargin had this patch on his Sokol suit and on board station suit as well.Last two images show Yuri Shargin on board station in his Sokol suit used on board Soyuz TMA-5.
