First mission in cosmos:From August 5, 1997 to February 19, 1998, Pavel performed a 198-day spaceflight onboard the "Soyuz TM" and "Mir" station as the Expedition 24 prime crew flight engineer under the Mir-24/NASA 5, 6 program.
Second flight: In January 2004 cosmonaut Pavel Vinogradov began training as the Expedition-13 crew commander. The mission was launched aboard the Soyuz TMA-8 from Baikonour, Kazakhstan on March 29, 2006, docking with the station on March 31, 2006. During 6-months tour of duty aboard the International Space Station, in addition to station maintenance and science activities, Vinogradov performed two successful spacewalks logging 12 hours and 25 mins of EVA wearing both Russian and U.S. spacesuits(in addition to 5 EVA with over 25 hours during his MIR-24 flight). The Expedition 13 mission concluded on September 28, 2006 with a safe landing in the steppes of Kazakhstan.
