# fc231 Soyuz TM-16/MIR-13 flown covers.

Covers flown with 13-th MIR resident crew Gennadiy Manakov and Alexander Poleschuk.Signed by both and hand notared by commander of flight Manakov `Board of station MIR`.Each cancelled with on board handstamps.First two covers cancelled same day 04.02.93 when Alexander Poleshuk performed Columbus-500 experiment using undocking Progress M-15 ship.It was a special round on board handstamp for this event and no other flights had this handstamp, but TM-16 cosmonaut Poleschuk.Because purple ink finished he had to switch ink to black (it was no any other special purpose for different colour of handstamps as he explained to me). Two other covers cancelled 23.02.93 (day of arrival and docking Progress-16 transport craft) and 24.05.93 in day of docking with Progress M-18 ship.Few more words about round on board handstamp. On handstamp reads `Board of complex MIR, In cosmos experiment `Znamya`, Columbus-500 1993`.This experiment was named in commemoration of Columbus discovery of America 500 years anniversary. The idea of experiment was the following- when Poleshuk undocked Progress M-15 ship- special fabric` sail` attached to cargo ship was open and focused to reflect light on Earth
