# fp200 Soyuz TM-17/MIR-14 VAKO-Soyuz patch

One of few patches taken on board Soyuz TM-17 to space station MIR by Expedition-14 board flight engineer Alexander Serebrov.Same as he had on Orlan suit during one of his EVA outside station MIT in September/October 1993 (see second image of Serebrov`s EVA). On reverse side Alexander Serebrov autographed patch as well.This subject came from Serebrov`s flight archives and received during our last meeting in September 2003 (see images next to patch). Serebrov flown Soyuz TM-17/MIR-14(same as previous Soyuz TM-8 mission) as elected President of VAKO-Soyuz All-Russian Youth Aerospace Society and from board of station conducted scientific-educational work of this society. VAKO-Soyuz founded in November 1988 with a goal to transfer intellectual potentiality accumulated in aerospace into educational sphere.Logo of VAKO-Soyuz (as on the patch) depicts a young cosmonaut riding the back of Polar Bear-symbolizing the space program.The bear is superimposed over the constellation URSA Major (Big Dipper).In the background, a fighter plane can be noticed, symbolizing the aeronautical part of VAKO-Soyuz. On board of MIR Alexander Serebrov along with other cosmonauts recorded a film `Lessons from Space` dedicated to VAKO-Soyuz.
