# spp097c Astronaut Phillips Birthday/Soyuz TMA-6 wire patch

16 April, 2005.A nice surprise was prepared to astronaut John Phillips, when he entered station along with Sergei Krikalev and Roberto Vittori. Welcome Greeting pages on ISS, including HAPPY BIRTHDAY! page. They were noticed by arrived new team at first moment after entering the station. Six hours prior docking of new Soyuz along with ISS-10 crew we`ve decided to Congratulate John and arrived team this simple way. After phone conversation with Salizhan Sharipov I went to backyard of my house to photograph best looking roses. This picture was inserted between text in Russian and English languages.I`ve sent Greeting pages on board by e-mail.Printouts were placed in different areas. This interesting way California`s roses arrived to John and Welcome Greetings arrived to new Soyuz TMA-6/ISS-11 team. Pictures depict photographs taken on ISS shortly after arrival and also pictures from NASA TV translation from the board. Soyuz TMA-6 team patches can be noticed at these pictures as well. The difference between these patches and the ones crew had on Sokol suits is that onboard station jumpsuits have wire made patches. It`s nice to see Italian cosmonaut Roberto Vittori on his second flight aboard Soyuz and ISS.For commander Sergei Krikalev this is a sixth mission. And John Phillips will always remember a Special Birthday on board Soyuz TMA-6 and ISS. Congratulations!
